Axis (prototype models)

These were the very first prototypes created for Pinion’s launch at SalonQP in November 2013. The dials were printed here in the UK, though not everything went to plan — the dial maker decided to add serifs to the typeface (uninvited!) and several prints came out in the wrong colour.

The “bronze” prototype wasn’t even bronze either — I didn’t have time to make one, so I plated a steel case instead. Despite the chaos, those early pieces marked the beginning of Pinion’s journey — and, as they say, the rest is history.
