Firestarter

The name Firestarter comes from its natural Red Agate dial, with colours ranging from deep red through to fiery orange. As every piece of stone is different, each dial has its own unique pattern, colour and character.

We’re aiming to reveal Firestarter in full, with new photography and further details, around 9 October.

We’re aiming to start sending watches out as early as October 2026, with more orders shipping from November onwards. As each watch is built by Pinion Founder, Piers; we’ll need to allow approx 10-14 days from ordering before the watch is shipped.

Yes. You’ll be able to request an available serial number when ordering your watch. Serial numbers will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please don’t request serial numbers before ordering or via email as this is difficult to manage.

The watch will come with a 20mm leather strap. As the Firestarter shares the same strap range as the Pure, customers can order additional straps such as our FKM rubber, or steel mesh bracelets at the time of ordering.

Yes. Simple personalised engraving, such as a name or short message, can be added at no additional cost. More complex bespoke designs may incur an additional charge depending on the artwork and work involved.

Please note that watches with personalised or bespoke engraving cannot normally be returned for a refund unless faulty.

No. Firestarter is not a limited edition, but it will be produced in batches of 100 watches.

Once the first batch has sold out, we’ll open registrations for the next batch before putting it into production.

Firestarter will only be available with a solid stainless-steel case back featuring a multi-contrast finish. Each case back will be engraved in-house and individually serial numbered.

No. The Miyota 9039 is a no-date automatic movement, allowing Firestarter to retain a clean dial without an unused date position at the crown.

We may introduce future watches within the Foundation collection using the Miyota 9015, which includes a date function.

Firestarter is powered by the Japanese Miyota 9039 automatic movement.

Each movement will be regulated and tested in-house by Pinion across three positions before the finished watch leaves the workshop, with regulation targeted to approximately ±5 seconds per day.

Yes, although no additional colours are planned for the initial launch. We’ll look to introduce further dials during 2027 following the first Firestarter production batch.

Firestarter will launch exclusively in 38mm. We may introduce different case sizes within the Foundation collection in the future, but there are currently no plans to do so.

Yes. Red Agate is a natural stone, so variations in colour, pattern and markings are part of the material. The dial you receive will therefore be unique rather than identical to the watches shown in our photography.

The first production batch will consist of 100 Firestarter watches, each individually serial numbered.
