Sometimes, with all the complications, elaborate designs and ways to display time, it is refreshing to see a watch that brings everything back to the essence of it all. That watch is the Pure Pro.

With purity of purpose on the dial, and behind it, Pure draws inspiration from professional instruments of the past and reinvents it for the wrist now.

Hand-wound

The Unitas 6498 was initially developed for pocket watches in the 1950s meaning it is larger than most modern watch movements, however, sits nicely in the 42mm case size of the Pure Pro.

The requirement to wind the timepiece regularly allows the owner to form a connection and to discover the delight of a slower tick-tick sound that you only really get with older hand-wound watches from an era before the 1970s.

Design

The Pure Pro references Pinion’s sold-out second watch, the Pure L.E. from 2014, where a simple dial is made more complicated by building it on two levels and polishing it with vertical brushings.

Rather than utilise Arabic numbers as seen on every other Pinion watch, the Pure Pro has indexes/batons to indicate the hours on the face. Each index is applied to dial and filled with luminous colour. This style of a dial is often referred to as a ‘professional’ or ‘pro’ dial.

Case

The Pure Pro GG is a stainless steel watch, in a brushed finish that is then coated in gunmetal grey using a DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) applied via a PVD ( Physical Vapour Deposition ) method.

The carbon-based coating is hardened ( Not easily removed ) and often used in automotive, aerospace and machine parts to reduce abrasion of the metals. For the Pure Pro, it is purely a decorative effect, that provides the watch with a military style finish.

Two-year warranty

Pinion Watch Company Ltd warrants its watches for twenty-four (24) months from the date of purchase.

The warranty covers material and manufacturing defects which may exist at the time of purchase, and during the warranty period, you have the right to have any defect repaired free of charge.

The two year warranty does not cover:

Normal wear and tear and ageing (e.g. any colour change, or scratches made to any parts of the watch).
Any damage from accidents, abnormal use/sports or incorrect use of the watch.
If the watch is opened, altered or repaired by a non-authorised person.
