At a glance

Pure is a 38mm hand-wound watch shaped by proportion, detail and restraint.

Available in stainless steel and bronze, each model shares the same underlying design, expressed through subtle variations in material and finish.

Every watch is designed, built and regulated in England by Pinion’s founder, Piers Berry – a rare approach where the designer is also responsible for the finished watch.

Designed for everyday wear

Pure has been refined into a compact 38mm case with carefully balanced proportions. Slimmer, more wearable, and suited to a wide range of wrists, it reflects a shift towards more considered sizing without compromising presence.

Pure concept

Pure returns to one of Pinion’s earliest designs, first released in 2014, and reinterprets it with a more refined and contemporary approach.

The dial carries forward elements of the original design language, while the case has been completely reworked to a smaller 38mm size. Brushed surfaces are paired with polished edges, bezel and case back to create a subtle interplay of finishes.

A high-domed sapphire crystal introduces a gentle distortion at the dial’s edge — a small detail that adds depth and character.

Gilt heart

At the centre of Pure is the Sellita SW261-1 hand-wound movement, developed to Pinion’s specification.

Finished in gilt with striping and blued screws, the movement has a warmth and depth more often associated with vintage hand-wound watches. It is visible through a sapphire case back, keeping the mechanical character of the watch part of the experience.

Printed on the inside of the case back is a skeletal hand illustration by British artist Keisha Karlsen — a reference to the original Pure motif.

Pure detail

The dial is where Pure expresses its character most clearly.

Each version features a multi-level painted surface with applied numerals that lift from the dial to create depth and clarity, filled with Super-LumiNova X1 for a clean blue glow in low light.

Hands are finished to suit each case:

• Black polished hands on steel models

• Brushed bronze-plated hands on bronze models

At 6 o’clock, a recessed small seconds display adds balance, with a subtle reference to traditional pocket watches.

Bronze heritage

Bronze has been part of Pinion’s story from the beginning.

In 2013, Pinion introduced one of the first modern British watches to use a bronze case. That same thinking returns here.

The bronze models are fully brushed, allowing the material to develop a natural patina over time. Each watch evolves with wear, creating a unique surface shaped by how it’s used.

One pair of hands

Every Pure watch is designed, assembled, regulated and tested in England by Pinion’s founder, Piers Berry.

From first sketch to final inspection, each movement is adjusted by hand and tested across multiple positions to ensure consistent performance.

Because the same person both designs and builds the watch, there is a direct connection between intention and execution — an approach that has become increasingly rare.
