FAQs

Why does my watch need servicing?

Over time, oils inside the movement dry out and friction between moving parts can cause wear. A full service restores your watch’s accuracy, performance and finish.

How often should I service my watch?

We recommend a full service every 4 to 5 years to keep it running at its best.

What’s included in a full watch service?

A full watch service includes:

Complete dismantling of the case, movement and bracelet (if fitted)
Cleaning and re-oiling of all components
Replacement of worn seals and gaskets
Reassembly and regulation of the movement in five positions over five days
Optional case polishing or refurbishment
Water-resistance testing before return

How long does a service or repair take?

Most services take 4–6 weeks from the time your watch arrives. This can vary depending on parts availability or the complexity of the work.

Will my watch be polished / brushed during service?

No, I don’t automatically refinish or polish cases during servicing. If you’d like your watch case refurbished, you can request this for an additional cost.

Do you replace seals and test for water resistance?

Yes. All serviced watches have their seals and gaskets replaced, then undergo pressure testing to confirm water resistance before being returned.

Can you replace worn or damaged parts?

Yes. If any parts such as crowns, bezels or crystals need replacing, I’ll contact you first with details and a cost before proceeding.

What happens if extra work is needed after I send my watch?

Once I’ve inspected your watch, I’ll email you a full estimate before starting any work, so you’re always aware of what’s involved.

Do I need to send the original box or papers?

No — please send the watch only. Keep the box and paperwork safely at home.

How do I pay for servicing or repairs?

You’ll receive an invoice by email once your watch is ready. Payment can be made securely online before return shipping.

Do you service other brands?

No — we only service and repair Pinion watches.
